Charming group of 3 antique/vintage die-cut Valentines featuring wonderful early children\'s illustrations.
Included are:
1. Colorful die-cut Valentine showing a girl riding a pig while holding a large red heart, accompanied by a boy carrying a large net. Handwritten dedication on reverse.
2. Die-cut Valentine showing a little girl seated on a large red heart with blue flowers and the words \"Valentine Greetings.\" Marked MADE IN GERMANY at lower front. Old handwritten inscription/tag remains on reverse.
3. Decorative floral and heart Valentine with an illustrated child portrait. Reverse carries the Whitney Made / Worcester, Mass. maker mark and an old handwritten inscription.
Whitney Made of Worcester, Massachusetts was one of America\'s important historic Valentine manufacturers and is well known among collectors of early holiday paper ephemera.
The German Valentine represents the colorful die-cut Valentine tradition for which German printers were particularly well known during the early 20th century.
