Antique US8a Russell & Morgan Bicycle 808 x Lotus Back Playing Cards 52/52 + Joker
This is the original Bicycle Best Bower Joker and one of the original back designs for Bicycle cards, the Lotus back.
This ace is classified as US8a, but it is a little different than the version in Hochman and on Bicyclecards.org. This has the same Ace design but on the bottom there has been added \"TRADE-MARK NO. 8,303, REGIS\'D MAY 31, 1881\"
This is the only US8a Ace of Spades that I have seen with the trademark info added to the bottom of the Ace of Spades.
Used antique condition, with aging and a few missing corner pieces.
I displayed all cards front and back so you can see the condition. 2s and 3s show less wear than the other cards, and they, along with the joker, still retain a bit of the gold gilding that was originally present.
Comes with the period box they were in when I acquired the deck. Certainly looks 19th century. Poker chips measure 1 1/4\".
