Carl Alexander Heisterkamp served on the Imperial German warship named SMS Friedrich Carl—an armored frigate commissioned in 1867. She served for decades before being retired in the 1890s.While I cannot definitively identify its exact origin or military use, it has never been reproduced or purchased on today’s collector market—it has been in the family since my great-grandfather’s lifetime.Features
