Antique Roycroft Hammered Copper Bookends Arts & Crafts Floral c1910 Signed For Sale

Authentic pair of early Roycroft Arts & Crafts hand-hammered copper bookends, produced at the Roycroft Shops in East Aurora, New York, circa 1909–1915. Each bookend is individually hand worked with a rich hammered copper surface, raised and tooled border, gently arched top and an exceptional stylized floral motif executed in relief with long scrolling stems. Both pieces retain their impressed Roycroft orb-and-cross shop marks, confirming their origin. The pair displays the hand craftsmanship and restrained organic design for which Roycroft metalwork became an icon of the American Arts & Crafts movement. Beautiful original aged brown copper patina with darker recesses emphasizing the hammered surfaces and floral decoration. Each measures approximately 5\" tall.
