Fine antique signed letter dated 12th March 1935 from Mary, Princess Royal Countess of Harewood (1897-1965), only daughter of King George V and Queen Mary, addressed to her son Gerald, signed "Mummy", written on stationery embossed in red with the royal coat of arms from Compton Place in Eastbourne home of the Dukes of Devonshire and was where Queen Mary and King George V took a highly publicised holiday before the Silver Jubilee, discussing motor rides through the countryside with Grannie and Grand Papa.From the collection of Gerald David Lascelles (1924-1998) and Angela Lascelles (1919-2007), first wife of the Honourable Gerald Lascelles second son of the 6th Earl of Harewood and his wife the Princess Royal - despite divorcing she remained very close to Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family.
