Antique "Reel" Applique Quilt. Estimated 1860s-1870s.
Measures 81 x 82.
Hand pieced (possibly some machine), hand appliqued, hand quilted, and hand bound.
This has beautiful tiny quilting in a regular grid pattern in the center and a diagonal grid on the outside border. See picture for size.
Red dotted flower fabric has some popped centers, and there are stains on top and back. Most stains appear like they will come out with treatment or soaking and some sunshine, I did not try clean it. I found three tiny nips in the fabric on the back. Everything else looks intact and good for its age.
I took pictures of every Reel design and also tried to capture the outside vines so you can zoom in to see issues. I also tried to capture most of the stains; I might have missed some.
