Authentic Victorian-era stoneware advertising jug/flagon manufactured by the renowned Price, Sons & Co. of Bristol, England. This piece was custom-made for Collins & Co., wine, spirit, and grocery merchants based in Coventry.

This heavy, vitrified stoneware vessel features a classic Victorian two-tone finish with an amber-brown dipped shoulder glaze and a natural tan/cream lower body. The front of the shoulder features a large, crisp stamped incised mark reading \"COLLINS & Co COVENTRY\". Right next to it is the clean, oval maker\'s stamp for \"PRICE BRISTOL\".

The underside of the base shows excellent, prominent concentric wire-cut marks left behind when the potter cut the wet jug off the wheel. It retains its original sturdy strap handle and distinct double-ring threaded lip.

Condition: Excellent antique condition overall with fantastic color contrast and display appeal. The body, neck, lip, and handle are free of any structural cracks, deep fissures, or major repairs.
