Up for sale/sale is a museum-grade example of historic Scandinavian cutlery engineering: an original Antique Swedish Barrel Knife (Tunnkniv), handcrafted by Pontus Holmberg in Eskilstuna, Sweden.

Dating to the early 20th century, this is a scarce large-format 4-1/4\" closed model featuring a figured Scandinavian Curly Birch (Masur Burl) barrel, solid steel end caps, heavy brass chassis liners, and its original keychain/lanyard ring.

Mechanical Function & Design:

• Ingenious Locking Mechanism: Depressing the lock release allows the brass inner frame to slide smoothly out of the outer barrel. The 3-3/8\" blade pivots open manually, and sliding the brass assembly back into the barrel locks the knife completely rigid, providing the strength of a fixed blade with the safety of a completely enclosed pocket folder.

• Stamped Brass Liners: Crisp factory mark on the brass inner frame reading \"P. Holmberg / Eskilstuna / Sweden\".

• Swedish High-Carbon Steel: Features a half-height ground clip point blade that retains full profile and sharp edge geometry.

• Figured Wood Barrel: Beautiful, dense curly birch burl showing rich amber figure and bird\'s-eye/flame chatoyance, bordered by solid steel end caps.
