Antique Japanese Nippon porcelain vase featuring beautifully hand-painted pink and burgundy roses against a softly colored landscape. The landscape continues around the reverse, with trees, distant hills, and water in delicate blue-green and pastel shades.
Elaborate intertwined double handles, a scalloped mouth, and molded shell-shaped feet give this vase a distinctive silhouette. Gilt trim and raised gold beading accent the rim, neck, handles, and base.
The underside bears a green maple-leaf “Hand Painted Nippon” mark associated with Morimura Brothers. Believed to date to approximately 8½″ high
• Approximately 7″ across the handles
• Base approximately 4″ × 3⅝″
Condition: No chips, cracks, or repairs. There is gold loss and rubbing, particularly on the handles and rim. Please examine all photographs closely for details of the decoration and condition.
This is an especially attractive antique vase for a Nippon porcelain collection or floral display.
