One minor flaw on the handle (see pic). Otherwise amazing condition for the age.
Up for sale/sale is a stunning, rare antique porcelain tea cup and matching saucer produced by the Nautilus Porcelain Company at the Possil Pottery in Glasgow, Scotland. This exquisite set features a delicate, thin-walled eggshell body sculpted with a heavily scalloped, shell-like fluted rim.
The exterior is beautifully adorned with transfer-printed and hand-painted soft blue forget-me-not floral bouquets, nestled against a lovely, pastel pink-blush ivory gradient ground. The intricate handle and scalloped edges are richly accented with bright gold gilding.
Markings: The underside of the cup features the authentic underglaze printed Nautilus Porcelain backstamp with the signature stylized "M" representing MacDougall & Sons (circa 1896–1911). It also displays hand-painted decorator/pattern numbers "548" and "10".
