Mercury Glass Tree Topper

Research indicates it’s most likely from Germany and
is dated sometime betwen 1910 and 1939
however, I'm not an expert so I'll let you decide

A remarkable item likely made of mercury glass featuring
2 - ball finial wrapped in fine crinkle wire

The top features a tassle of tinsel cascading in two directions that
is wired through the topped to the base

Four mercury glass bells, complete with glass clappers,
hang from curled wired spirals extending from two sides as shown

Yes, the bells make a sweet tinkle when shaken

Each bell measures about 1-3/8' tall and 1" wide at rim

Silver bells have a bumpy texture that catches the light and sparkles

Sadly, the top was broken at one time....the GOOD NEWS is the
broken bit slides directly onto the adjacent piece allowing this
lovely piece to continue to provide spendor to the top of the tree

Measures about 9.5” in height and 4.5 in wide when assembled
The billss will be removed and boxed for shipping a they simply
slided on and off the wired spiral

Note the pikes of the bells are imperfect a shown

For some reason, the previou own has tape on the bottom of the item
which I am loathe to try and remove for fear of damaging the base...
I leave it up to the buyer to make that decision

The hole at the bottom is approximately 1/2 inch wide / diameter

I have not cleaned this item and leave any cleaning up to the buyer
it is being sold as found
