Offered for sale is a beautiful antique German Meissen porcelain figurine, “Allegory of Fire” (Allegorie des Feuers), Model C97, from the celebrated Four Elements series, originally designed by Johann Joachim Kändler circa 1770.
This exceptionally charming and intricately detailed composition depicts a seated putto preparing hot chocolate, carefully stirring a small cup at an elegant marble-effect table, while a pink kettle rests over a beautifully modeled open fire.
The exquisite craftsmanship, delicate hand-painted decoration, rich colors, and finely applied gold accents showcase the artistry for which Meissen porcelain is internationally renowned.
