This museum-quality Imperial Russian porcelain box was produced by the Partnership of M.S. Kuznetsov around 1890–1917. Modeled as a birch tree stump, it exemplifies genre porcelain inspired by Russian folk motifs.
Most importantly, this very model is documented and published in the authoritative reference “Russian Faience and Porcelain. The Empire of Kuznetsov and Konakovo” (Moscow, 2010), p. 188. Publication elevates the piece into the category of highly significant works, rarely available on the open market.
The box is preserved in excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, or restorations. Its naturalistic hand-painting and rustic design remain sharp and vivid.
