The stoneware body is most likely attributed to Marzi & Remy of Hohr-Grenzhausen, Germany. The base mark is too faded.
There\'s an extremely close documented match that is 1-Liter Hofbrauhaus Munchen Stein, Marzi & Remy Mold 5 with the same plain gray salt-glazed cylindrical body, cobalt crowned HB, pewter lid reading \"KGL. HOF-BRAUHAUS MUNCHEN\" flag-style thumb lift, and open multi-ring hinge. That example is dated 1900-1918. Please research yourself.
The pewter lid may have been made separately, often by Munich pewterers such as Ludwig Mory; documented Hofbrauhaus lids of this type carry L. Mory Munchen marks. Can\'t see a readable pewterer\'s stamp.
