Description Offered for your consideration is a vintage Justrite miner's lantern. From, I would guess, the early 1900s, the lamp was used in the mining industry on the front of miner's helmets, and operated using calcium caroffere. This particular model indicates that a patent has been applied for the device, which is why I am concluding that it is an earlier lamp. In very good to very 'as found' condition, it shows use and handling, but has no breaks or repairs. I have not tested this light for it's ability to work. The top does still open, as well as the middle for access to the tank. The lamp even retains the original gasket at the caroffere fill, but is dried from age. The lamp is constructed of brass, with a metal reflector. It measures 4" tall x 2 3/4" at it's widest x 2" diameter base. It has a weight of about 5 ounces.
