This pan is formed from pure copper and originally lined with sterling silver, the premierprofessional cooking surface of the era. The base bears a clear stamp forMaison Arthur Grill, firmly placing this piece within New York City’s early fine-dining history.

Maison Arthur Grill was an upscale New York City restaurant operating during the early 20th century,a time when serious dining establishments commissioned custom-branded cookware exclusively forin-house use. Such equipment was functional, not decorative, and was subjected to intense dailyservice over open flame.

As a result, most restaurant-stamped frying pans were eventually worn out, re-lined, or discarded.Surviving examples—especially frying pans—are significantly scarcer today than kettles or servicepieces.

This pan is therefore both a product of Heinrichs’ renowned craftsmanship and a tangible artifactfrom a vanished New York dining room—an object that once lived at the stove in a professional kitchen.
