Overview:Offering for sale an authentic, antique traditional engraved silver amulet (Kamea) designed for spiritual protection and safeguarding. This classic protective amulet carries profound Kabbalistic significance and represents a beautiful piece of Jewish heritage.
Physical Characteristics & Design:
Shape: The amulet is crafted in an elegant leaf or elongated rhombus shape, a design highly characteristic of Jewish amulets originating from Islamic lands such as Persia, Kurdistan, or Iraq.
Dimensions & Weight: Measures approximately 2.5 inches (5.5 cm) in width and 1.5 inches (4 cm) in height. Weight: 11 grams.
Reverse Side: The back features two authentically soldered metal suspension loops. These loops indicate the amulet\'s versatile historical use—it was designed to be worn on a chain, sewn directly onto a garment, or hung directly on a baby\'s crib or bed for constant protection. Faint traces of original engravings or hallmarks can also be observed on the back.
Textual Content & Engraving (Front):The face of the amulet is completely covered in dense, traditional hand-engraved Hebrew text.
Kabbalistic Inscriptions: While the text is partially blurred from generations of authentic handling, key protective elements remain identifiable. These include traditional verses of protection, the names of Kabbalistic angels historically known for their guarding capabilities, the powerful incantation \"Kera Satan\" (Tear Satan/Evil), and the Holy Name \"Shaddai\" (Almighty).
Holy Names: Interspersed between the lines are various Kabbalistic letter combinations and holy names, carefully integrated to amplify the amulet\'s protective power.
Condition & Patina:The piece boasts a beautiful, natural oxidized patina. The dark silver aging within the engraved grooves elegantly highlights the Hebrew letters, standing as a true testament to its age and authentic historical use over the years.
