Design & Historical Significance
Originating in Persia and widely adopted across Central Asia, Northern India, and Afghanistan, the Pesh-Kabz was engineered specifically as an armor-piercing combat dagger. Its characteristic "T-spine" cross-section provides rigidity to prevent bending upon impact, while the sharply tapered point was designed to penetrate chainmail armor and heavy padded textiles.
Features & Details
Blade: Single-edged high-carbon steel blade with a reinforced T-spine structure. The spine features traditional filework/grooving along the ricasso and upper spine for aesthetic detail and grip alignment.
Hilt & Handle: Full-tang construction featuring a polished steel bolsters/integral guard and dark carved horn or hardwood handle scales secured with metal rivets. Features an integrated lanyard loop/pommel ring at the butt end.
Sheath: Accompanied by a fitted leather-over-wood sheath with a sewn back seam and integrated belt loop.
Overall Length: ~16 inches (Blade length approx. 11 inches).
Condition
Blade: Shows a clean, polished finish with minor surface age, light scratches, and patina consistent with age. Blade edge and tip remain sharp and structurally sound.
