Antique, Historic, Bathroom tiles, Lee Harvey Oswald Apt. UNIT#2, Med. Block For Sale

These tiles are from the bathroom in the Lee Harvey Oswald Unit #2 (formerly 602-604) Elsbeth apartment building which had access to the back kitchen, vanity area and front room, where the front door was located. The front door had access to the two lower apartments and stairwell. The apartments were very efficient; you could open up the doors and connect the dining room (which Lee called his library) into the front living room/bedroom. You would never know the front living room was also a bedroom because it had a Murphy Bed - Such an efficient layout! A lot of doors and doorknobs, only 1 bathroom! The bathroom is very historical, a private place for Marina with the bathtub as a place of serenity.This is the building where Lee Harvey Oswald ordered the gun that killed Officer Tippit after the tragic assassination of President Kennedy. 600 Elsbeth (formerly 602-604 Elsbeth) is in the Warren Commission. Mr. and Mrs. Tobias were the Building Managers in 1963, and the Warren Commission interviewed them extensively. Mr. Tobias drew a picture of the building for the Warren Commission. (Many collectors have suggested I break apart the different blocks into smaller pieces. I do think it is a good idea for people who know how to handle old cement/mortar and it would let more people have access to collectible items, but it just isn\'t what I want to do, it is hard enough for me to cut the wallpaper.)
The story of Jane Bryant, me, the property owner, trying to preserve the historical building from the unnecessary demolition by the City of Dallas was in news outlets all over the world from 2007 to 2013 heavily and most recently a story in Dallas based \"Candy\'s Dirt\" by April Towery was published October 9, 2023 revisiting the challenges that Jane Bryant faced trying to save 600 Elsbeth. Collectors all over the world come to Dallas to see Lee Harvey Oswald history, and even though the building came down, the property site still receives history lovers\' visits. Newspapers and media did stories on 600 Elsbeth.
