Antique Handel Ware Glass Tobacco Jar w/ Hand Painted Squirrels 201/274 As Is For Sale

This antique Handel Ware squat humidor was made sometime between 1902 and 1905. The front features a hand painted scene of squirrels foraging on a branch. It is approximately 6 3/4\" tall, with a diameter of 5 7/8\". There is a nick on the back, and under very close inspection one can see that a tight, short hairline accompanies it. See photos 6 thru 8. Considering that there are remnants of brown paint in the chip I would say that it is quite old. Additionally, it falls on the seam in the glass. The loss isunfortunate but considering age and location, it is likely quite stable. The original hinged collar is in good condition without corrosion or damage. The book plate with the squirrels image was in the jar when I received it. I am including it in this sale and will send it as it was received, contained within the jar.
