Antique French Style Jeweled Portrait Powder Compact Mirror Enamel Rhinestones
Beautiful and unusual antique jeweled portrait powder compact, likely of French or Continental European origin and dating to the early 20th century.
The ornate gold-tone metal case features a raised central portrait of a woman beneath a domed glass cover. The portrait is surrounded by twisted-rope metalwork, rows of blue faceted glass stones, green enamel/glass accents and four faux pearl cabochons.
The sides of the compact have elaborate embossed floral and scroll decoration.
Opening the hinged case reveals an interior mirror and a removable green fabric-covered powder insert/puff. The original-style vanity components and elaborate jeweled exterior make this a wonderful display piece for an antique compact, vanity or Art Nouveau-era collection.
No maker\'s mark or country mark was found, so the exact manufacturer and country of origin cannot be guaranteed.
