Beautiful antique French Déposé-marked covered porcelain bowl/bonbonnière featuring hand-painted polychrome floral decoration, raised gilt embellishment, and elaborate ormolu mounts.

5 1/4” interior diameterThe porcelain is decorated with individually hand-painted flowers and foliage in pink, purple, blue, green and orange tones, surrounded by hand-painted gilt scrollwork. Ornate metalwork includes a pierced floral gallery, scrolling side handles, decorative tripod feet and a sculptural finial. There is slight normal wear consistent with age. The underside is hand marked “DÉPOSÉ” in blue with an additional crossed-line / cipher-style and “S” mark beneath. Déposé is a French registered-design designation. Would make a gorgeous candle vessel!
