Antique French Clodion Style Bronze Patina Putti Cherub Sculpture 23\" For Sale

This impressive Large Antique French Cold Cast Resin Bronze Patinated Putti Cherub Sculpture beautifully captures the playful elegance and romantic spirit associated with the celebrated works of Clodion (Claude Michel, 1738–1814). Depicting two dancing putti cherubs intertwined in a lively and graceful composition, the sculpture exudes movement, charm, and classical sophistication.

The figures are masterfully modeled with expressive faces, flowing curls, delicately draped garments, and naturalistic anatomy. One cherub raises an arm triumphantly overhead while the other gazes upward, creating a captivating sense of interaction and joyous movement. The dynamic arrangement is characteristic of Rococo-inspired decorative sculpture, where fluidity, theatricality, and emotion are central artistic themes.

Finished in a rich bronze patina, the sculpture displays remarkable depth and visual warmth, highlighting the fine detailing throughout the figures, drapery, and naturalistic base. The sculptural group stands atop an elegant carved circular pedestal base featuring decorative foliate motifs that further enhance its stately presentation.

Inspired by the finest traditions of French Rococo and Neoclassical decorative arts, this substantial sculpture serves as a striking centerpiece for mantels, consoles, libraries, studies, galleries, or curated European interiors. Its dramatic scale, beautiful patina, and timeless subject matter make it a highly decorative and collectible work.
