Antique Dine' (Navajo) Saddle Blanket – Bird Motif – Germantown Era

Antique Navajo saddle blanket featuring a stylized bird (pictorial) motif with a geometric flame/arrow border in classic red, black, and natural wool tones.

Handwoven in wool on a traditional loom, this piece reflects the bold design and refined detail associated with Germantown-era Navajo textiles, including the use of brightly dyed yarns and strong graphic composition.

Acquired by family members on a Southwest trip in the early 1950s; the weaving itself is believed to predate that time.
