The stein dates from 1899-1944 and refers to the BrandenburgMarch (historical part of Prussia/Germany). The MB section was founded in 1899 as a part, abranch of the German-Austrian club. limiting membership . In the years 1905-1909 the MB section built theBrandenburg Haus - the highest mountain shelter in the Otztaler Alpen in Tyrolat an altitude of 3277 m above sea level. In the interwar period the sectionwas known for its radical nationalist, fascist views. Its chairman from 1922 to1930 was Waldemar Titzenthaler.
