A wonderful and unique match safe from Cuba. This was given out by "The largest fan store in the world" located in Havana Cuba. The other side shows an early photograph of "Malecon and Morro Castle." The advertisement side lists the store as selling "Spanish and Cuban Fans, Scarfs, Mantillas etc. Large Assortment of Curiosities." The souvenir side shows the Castle of the Three Kings of Morro and the Malecon in Havana. The wording on the match safe does spell it Habana which is the official Spanish spelling. There are some obvious signs of age and staining, which is common with an old celluloid advertisement. There are still used matches inside of the safe, possibly a keepsake from the trip.
This match safe comes from a large inherited collection that has been entrusted to us on consignment. I have done my best to insure accurate pictures for each match safe so please look at all pictures before purchasing. This estate collection includes 60 total match safes ranging across art nouveau, art deco, and pre-war. There are plenty of sterling, brass, German silver, and other metals available in this collection. Plenty of advertisements and old souvenirs as well.
If you have any questions on any of the listings, please do not hesitate to reach out and ask. I will happily provide more pictures or information.
If you buy multiple of our listings, shipping can be combined. Feel free to make an offer. If you are interested in multiple match safes at once, please let us know which ones and we can work out a deal.
