DESCRIPTION:
Up for sale is a beautiful, rare matching pair of antique/vintage big cat figurines, styled as walking lions. Based on their construction, these figures appear to be dense chalkware, plaster, or a plaster-composition hybrid mix dating from the early to mid-20th century. They feature a wonderful hand-painted, airbrushed orange gradient finish with classic hand-brushed detailing.
These were likely originally designed as part of a high-end vintage toy display, such as a circus caravan wagon, a zoo exhibit, or a large Noah\'s Ark set.
Unique Structural Features:
* Hollow Bases: The underside of each figure features individual hollow peg holes molded directly into the feet, indicating they were designed to sit on a pinned or pegged display stand.
