Exceptional antique pressed glass individual open salt cellar with delicate glass salt spoon, attributed to Cambridge Glass Company.
This is an especially beautiful little piece, featuring an extraordinarily intricate, lace-like pressed design. The bowl is covered with tiny stippled details, scrolling paisley-like motifs, floral rosettes and fan designs, surrounding a bold eight-point
starburst in the center. A finely scalloped rim completes the design.
The amount of detail packed into this diminutive salt is remarkable and gives the glass an almost jewel-like appearance.

Cambridge Glass Company of Cambridge, Ohio became particularly well known during the early 20th century for its elaborate pressed glass marketed under the "Nearcut" name. Nearcut glass was designed to achieve much of the sparkling, highly decorated appearance associated with cut glass through exceptionally detailed molded designs.
Cambridge produced numerous individual salts during this period, which were intended to sit at individual place settings on a formal dining table.
