Antique C.S. Bell No. 1 1/2 pattern-family cast iron grist mill and hand-crank grinder with a distinctive 12-inch branching-spoke flywheel. Cleaned and carefully waxed to preserve its aged red-orange paint and authentic patina; the hand crank and grinding mechanism operate.
The raised flywheel carries the NO. 1 1/2 designation and the casting bears GM-series numbers in the GM 22 / GM 21 family, which connect this mill to the C.S. Bell Company of Hillsboro, Ohio. A heavy, purposeful American industrial antique for a farmhouse kitchen, workshop or mercantile display. Sold as a decorative antique; not represented as food-safe for modern use.
