Antique William Brownfield & Sons English porcelain cabinet plate, impressed with the Brownfield factory name and dated 12/78, indicating manufacture in December 1878.
This striking Victorian plate features a finely hand-painted hummingbird hovering among trumpet-shaped flowers and foliage. Raised enamel detailing adds texture and depth to the bird’s plumage. The central scene is framed by a broad turquoise border, narrow gilt rim, and an intricate gold-and-white ornamental band.
The reverse bears a faint impressed BROWNFIELD factory mark, the impressed 12/78 date code, and a painted pattern or decorator number.
A beautiful display piece for collectors of Victorian English porcelain, antique bird decoration, and turquoise-and-gold cabinet plates.
