The smaller example has four raised feet. Both have open interiors with no removable inserts.These appear consistent with traditional Asian charcoal hand warmers or small portable braziers and may also have been used for incense. Similar examples are commonly attributed to China, although these pieces are unmarked and the exact country and age are unknown, so please review the photographs and make your own determination.Both retain an attractive aged brass patina with surface wear, oxidation, discoloration and marks consistent with age and use.
