Up for sale is a fantastic and highly collectible antique glass lightning rod insulator (LRI) in a vivid, gorgeous Aqua Blue color.
This is a very unique design that features a molded "Cross Top" (X-shape) upper dome and a large horizontal pass-through hole running clean through the upper section. The bottom base is completely smooth and unthreaded with a center pocket meant to mount directly onto antique iron lightning rod hardware or structural wall brackets.
The glass is rich with historical charm, showing wonderful internal bubbles, straw marks, and a rugged texture that looks spectacular when displayed in natural sunlight. This is an excellent addition for any dedicated antique insulator collector or fan of vintage lightning rod and weathervane history.
