Antique RStK Amphora Turn-Teplitz Bohemia Porcelain Vase, 10.5” — Art Nouveau, Made in Austria
Beautiful antique Art Nouveau vase by Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel (RStK), Turn-Teplitz, Bohemia — the maker’s mark reads “Turn-Teplitz Bohemia RStK, Made in Austria.”
Front panel is fully colored, the sides and back panel have a simpler decoration - all are hand rendered and quite lovely
Also has an impressed “AMPHORA” mark and is numbered 12 540.
Circa late 1890s–1910.
• Height: 10.5 inches
• Form: Bulbous amphora-style body with four gilded scrolling handles and a morel mushroom or honeycomb-textured gold neck
• Decoration: Hand-painted enameled flowers (cream/yellow with burgundy accents) in raised, jeweled-slip relief against a soft lavender-white ground, with gilt highlights throughout
• Base: Impressed model number, RStK maker’s stamp in red
• Condition: some minor gilt wear consistent with age, some superficial foot rim soiling
A striking example of Bohemian Art Nouveau pottery, prized by collectors for its raised enamel floral work and sculptural gold handles.
