VERY NICE Alfred Flauder Indian Brave Pen Set Mounted on Wooden Base with Black Scheaffer Pen (not working), Silver Plated Native American Scout or Hunter Sculpture, Alfred Flauder for Weidlich Brothers, Art Deco Era, Circa 1930 to 1940.
The sculpture is marked WB 769 for Weidlich Brothers.
There is a Scheaffer pen mounted on the base and a plaque that reads: "Everything is possible and the best is just beginning, 12-25-72" and the initials GJS, indicating that the antique sculpture was removed from its original base and made into a nice pen set in 1972.
Designer Alfred J. Flauder was a Hungarian American (1887 - 1977)
Measurements: The sculpture itself is approximately 7 inches wide x 8.5 inches tall, the entire pen set on the base is 14.5 inches x 9 inches.
Condition: Statue and Base are in Very Good. Minor wear to silver plating. The Scheaffer pen does not work. I don't know if it can be fixed by adding ink, but please know that this item is being sold as is.
