This is the original veterinary Absorbine made for horses, not the later and far more common Absorbine Jr. The front is embossed ABSORBINE / $2.00 PER BOTTLE / MF\'G BY W.F. YOUNG P.D.F. / SPRINGFIELD, MASS. U.S.A., and the base carries the T.C.W.CO. / U.S.A. mark associated with the T. C. Wheaton Company. Based on the W.F. Young company designation, the $2.00 pricing, the glassmaker mark and the bottle\'s construction, it dates to about 1901-1919.
In normal light the glass reads as a rich dark amber; backlit, it glows orange-gold, with bubbles and small manufacturing irregularities throughout. No stopper or closure is included. The embossing is strong and clearly defined, with minor age-related surface wear consistent with early glass. Please review all photos, which are part of the description.
