This antique 8-gallon stoneware crock is believed to date from the late 19th to early 20th century (approximately 1880–1910). It features a hand-painted cobalt blue “8” capacity mark, salt-glazed exterior, dark brown glazed interior, and applied lug handles.
The crock is unbranded, with no visible maker’s mark or pottery stamp present. Large crocks of this type were commonly used for food storage, pickling, and preservation.
Good antique condition. No visible cracks or repairs. The crock displays typical age-related wear including glaze imperfections, kiln marks, staining, scratches, scuffs, and several small chips/nicks.
Measures approximately 16 3/4 inches tall and weighs approximately 32 pounds.
