Antique 1907 1913 German Taufschein Trauschein Marriage Baptism Certificate Frak For Sale

This is a pair of antique German Lutheran certificates from the same family, both filled in by hand in beautiful old script. The first is a Trauschein, a marriage certificate dated March 3, 1907, for Karl Koehler of T. Bremen, Cook Co., Illinois and Auguste Steinfatt of T. Palos Springs, Cook Co., Illinois, married in Tinley Park, Illinois. It is printed by Concordia Publishing House in St. Louis and surrounded by colorful biblical scenes, angels, and psalm verses. The second is a Taufschein, a baptism certificate for Walter Heinrich Leonhard Koehler, born November 2, 1913 and baptized December 7, 1913 at the Evangelical Lutheran church in Orland, Illinois. It is printed by Ernst Kaufmann of Lahr, Baden and New York, and has the embossed church seal at the bottom. Each measures about 11 by 16 inches. Both show the toning and gentle wear you expect from paper over a century old, but the colors are still rich. A wonderful find for genealogy, fraktur collectors, or framing as folk art.
