A beautifully preserved Belle Époque pocket agenda/diary for 1905, given away as a promotional premium by Maison Henri Esders, the well-known Parisian men\'s and boys\' ready-to-wear clothing chain (Grands Magasins d\'Habillements), with stores including \"Grande Fabrique\" at 50 Rue Turbigo, Paris.The green cloth cover is stamped in gilt Art Nouveau lettering and floral ornament.Inside, each day of the year has its own entry with the saint\'s day, a sample daily menu (déjeuner/dîner), and a little proverb, anecdote, or joke — a charming window into Parisian daily life and humor of 1905. The agenda also includes full-page illustrated comic strips with witty dialogue and caricature drawings, plus pages of clothing advertisements (suits, waistcoats, overcoats, trousers) with period pricing from the Esders stores.Condition: Excellent for its age.
