Original antique souvenir from the 1901 Pan-American Exposition held in Buffalo, New York.
This substantial little cast-metal paperweight features a wonderfully detailed American buffalo or bison standing on an oval base. “1901” is molded prominently into one side of the buffalo, while “PAN-AMERICAN” and “EXPOSITION” appear in raised lettering around the base.
A marvelous survivor from the Buffalo world’s fair and an appealing addition to a collection of exposition memorabilia, antique advertising, American history, figural paperweights or bison décor.
Measures approximately:
2 1/2\" long1 1/2\" wide2\" tall
Good antique condition with age-related surface wear, scratches, finish loss, oxidation and casting irregularities. There is a small dent along the upper edge of the base above the “EXPOSITION” lettering, shown in the close-up photograph. An old circular label or adhesive remnant remains inside the hollow underside. Both horns, legs and curled tail appear intact. Please examine all photographs closely as part of the condition description.
