Up for sale is a remarkably preserved piece of early 19th-century American agricultural history. This original, hand-written manuscript document is explicitly dated February 1839 ("Fbry 1839") and details blacksmithing and iron work ledger charges for a George McDaniel.
This piece dates to the Jacksonian/pioneer era of American farming and specifically references a "Cary plow"—a historic wooden-stocked plow with a cast-iron share popular in the early-to-mid 1800s.
