Alan Napier (1903–1988) was an English actor whose career spanned more than five decades in theater, film, and television. He appeared in numerous Hollywood productions including Cat People (1942), The Uninvited (1944), Marnie (1964), and many television series. However, he is best remembered for portraying Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne\'s loyal butler, in the iconic 1966–1968 Batman television series starring Adam West. His portrayal became the definitive screen version of Alfred for an entire generation of fans.
