A rare and historically significant set for Al Koran’s famous Million Dollar Prediction, complete with the envelope opener (billet knife) and the original typed instructions.
The Effect
This is a prediction designed as a publicity stunt or show finale. A prediction of a major public event—such as an election result, horse race, lottery number, football game or similar high-profile outcome—is sealed inside nested envelopes well in advance. The outer envelopes can be examined and held by independent parties. When the event occurs and the result is known, the envelope is opened and the prediction is shown to be correct. Al Koran used this principle for headline-grabbing predictions that generated major press coverage.
The Apparatus
The set includes a beautifully made paper knife (letter-opener style billet knife) into which a folded billet is loaded and entirely hidden. By using the slider built into the billet knife, the prediction billet is ejected cleanly into a sealed envelope. The instructions describe the exact loading, the preparation of envelopes, and the full handling—including the classic “red herring” blue billet technique Koran used.
