These beautiful black and white antique texture shields come from the Bamileke people of Cameroon. Hand-carved out of one piece of wood. The surface features geometric patterns covered in Kaolin (white clay). The back has a Thick wooden handle on the inside for gripping.Traditionally these shields were used as defensive weapons and decorative objects. Today these African Shields are a favorite among designers, decorators, and art collectors. The dimension is 22 inches wide or 11 inches’ radius.
