Weighting 3 lbs, this piece was made in the United States in the 1920’s by renowned maker Ronson of Ronson Art Metal Works. A versatile addition to any collection, this lamp base showcases intricate details and a timeless design that will impress any collector of metalware or Art Deco items. As mentioned, this piece has been painted black at some point over the original verde gris. There are chips out of the sides of the stand and about 3 small nicks on leg, finger and shoulder. All of the limbs are in place, meaning there are no breaks on the body. The hollow rod and the cord exit hole show that this was once a lamp but those parts are not not included in this listing.
This has been in my family for a very long time. It belonged to my grandmother as far back as I can remember. She was born in 1904. It was not a working lamp as I remember it and she often put a flower in the long tube in the back. This is a timeless piece and a celebration of women.
