No. 12R. Bliss Manufacturing was an important early American manufacturer of wooden screws and clamps, originally producing woodworking hardware for piano makers, cabinetmakers and other craftsmen. The company later became famous for its beautifully made wooden toys.This is a particularly nice example of an early American wooden woodworking tool, with two original wooden screws, original turned wooden handles and substantial hardwood jaws.The wood appears to be hickory, consistent with the company’s documented use of high-quality hickory in its wooden screw production.CONDITIONThe clamp has the wonderful aged appearance and patina expected of a tool that is well over 100 years old.It shows:* Normal age-related wear
