This is a wonderful Huyler’s Chocolate wooden advertising box with original paper labels on the exterior and a striking original label inside the lid. The interior label is especially nice, featuring the classic Huyler’s Chocolate script logo, “La Vogue” markings, a printed image of a Huyler’s Vanilla Chocolate package, and large CHOCOLATE lettering. The exterior retains additional Huyler’s paper advertising, and decorative foliage. The box is constructed of wood with finger jointed corners and period hardware. It has a hinged lid and retains a very appealing untouched antique appearance.
This is a genuinely old piece and shows considerable age-related wear. The exterior paper labels have substantial losses. The interior lid label is much more complete but also shows age and edge wear. The wood has scratches, old nail holes and other imperfections extended from age and use. Please examine all photos closely, as they are an important part of the condition description. No restoration or refinishing has been done.
This is a wonderful display piece for a collector of Huyler’s, antique chocolate and candy advertising, country store memorabilia primitive wooden boxes or early American advertising. This box measures 12” x 9 1/2” x 4”.
