Metal work is ornate pressed brass with floral, leaf and grape clusters. Top of bell adorned with crescent moon.
Base is made of circular stone from alabaster.
Mechanism operates via a top mounted lever/pull ring that strikes an internal bell when released. The bell tone is beautiful and lasting.
This piece is rare and very old. Condition is good for its age, however there is a small hole in one of the shells-see picture and a tiny sliver of shell missing at the top where shell meets metal-see picture. These flaws do not take away from its beauty, sound or overall look.
