Andrew Weir, 1st Baron Invenforth (1865-1955) founded and was head of the firm of Andrew Weir and Co. shipowners of Glasgow. He served as a minister in the coalition government during the First World War as Surveyor General of Supplies from 1917 to 1919. He subsequently served as Minister of Munitions until 1921.
