A beautiful antique French carriage timepiece c1880
The ornate case is outstanding, wonderfully shaped with finely cut brass decoration, bevel glass throughout (perfect), mounted on turned brass feet, finished with a curved swing handle. The gilded masked face is in excellent condition, having a small enamelled porcelain chapter and a gilded center with a pair of fine steel hands.
The movement is good quality, operating with a fine silvered compensated platform lever escapement, the clock underwent a professional service early July this year and has spent most of its years inside a display cabinet. The condition is wonderful.
My husband collected clocks for the best part of 50 years, I will be listing more when the time allows.
