8 Divided Fondue Plates In Original Case — Designed By Italian Modernist Joe Colombo======================== A set of8 modernist plates from the Arno line, designed by Italian designer Joe Colombo in the 1960s for Italora. Each plate has "Italy" in raised letters on the edge and aredivided into 5 compartments, perfect for fondue.They are made of heavy clear glass and weigh approx. 2.2 pounds each. These 8 plates are 9-1/4" wide and come in their original white carrying case. They're in excellent gently used condition with no chips or cracks. There are a few minor flatware marks and rubs from use and storage. The original handled box is in great shape with just a little minor wear. See pics as they are part of the description. The 22 .lb carefully padded package will ship by FedEx Ground/Home "Joe" Colombo (1930 - 1971) was educated at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera (the Academy of Fine Arts) in Milano as a painter, and furthered his education in Architecture at the Politechnico di Milano University until 1954.In the 1960s, Colombo designed The 'Arno' line of glassware for ITALORA, a glass manufacturer in Italy, showing off Colombo's prowess as a progressive postmodern and contemporary designer.
